Northwest Children's Home
Happy Family
Building Brighter Futures Since 1908
Northwest Children's Home is a private, non profit, psychiatric residential and day treatment facility dedicated to helping young people ages six to seventeen. The mission of the agency is to provide quality therapeutic and educational services for troubled youth and to provide supportive services to strengthen their families. Our mission is rooted in the simple statement of NCH's founder, Rev. Samuel Chase, "To help each needy child to the full extent of its needs."

Educational Services
Nampa, Idaho
We operate our own fully-accredited education center in Nampa to serve our residents as well as children living in the community.
Most of the children have emotional or behavioral problems that are severe enough to have an adverse impact on learning. Some students also have learning disabilities apart from their emotional difficulties.
Most students are referred from the following districts: Nampa, Vallivue, Caldwell, Middleton and Canyon/Owyhee
School Service Agency (COSSA). The school is staffed by certified special education teachers and offer small classes and structured programs to increase academic skills. Counseling, social work services, and parent education are provided. Some of the children spend part of the day in public school.
Our teachers work closely with the therapeutic staff to assure consistency in treatment. Credits earned at the NCH Education Centers transfer freely.
Syringa House
Nampa, Idaho
Specialized treatment for females ages 12 to 18 is offered at Syringa House. This satellite program is located 20 miles from Boise in Nampa, Idaho.
Positive Peer Groups afford the girls a supportive environment to solve problems, gain new insights and learn to manage their own behaviors.
The behavioral milieu integrates individual and group therapy and family counseling with life-space counseling, behavior management, therapeutic recreation and special education.
Groups meet weekly to discuss sexuality and sexual abuse victimization, chemical dependency and independent living skills.
The program focuses on earned responsibility. Part-time employment, volunteer service and community-based classes and recreation offer opportunities for community reintegration.
All of the girls participate in career education classes and learn basic vocational skills. Most are placed in paid part-time jobs.

Tax Deductions and Tax Credits
Your contribution to the Northwest Children's Home is tax deductible. Idaho taxpayers are also eligible for additional income tax credits which reduce the cost of a $100 donation to about $15.06!
Idaho taxpayers may claim an additional tax credit for donations to NCH up to $300 per taxpayer. The credits are for donations to specific
rehabilitation centers and public and private schools.
Taxpayers in the 28% tax bracket who make a $100 gift will realize a $28 deduction on their federal taxes, $6.94 on their Idaho income taxes, plus an added Idaho tax credit of $50. This reduces the final cost of the $100 gift to $15.06.      Please consult your tax adviser for full information.
